EBS expansion of closed storage capacity, Laurenshaven, Rotterdam

In the summer of 2016, work commenced in Laurenshaven in Rotterdam to expand the closed storage capacity. European Bulk Services BV is the client that ordered this warehouse. The construction of this warehouse will provide EBS with additional storage capacity of no less than 60 000 m³. This expansion is in line with EBS’s philosophy of offering its customers a very large and efficient infrastructure and emphasises the strategy of HES and its shareholders to consolidate growth in the dry bulk sector and to reinforce their position in the closed storage of all dry bulk.

At Cometal NV, we are proud to have been able to offer our expertise in this project.
Following their order and in close collaboration with the project team at Cordeel Nederland BV, we have planned formwork occupation. It was decided to work with our steel Bimet formwork for the walls, which are 13 metres high and up to 850 mm thick (these walls were poured in one fase in height, achieving an unrivalled end result in terms of smoothness), and our Alcom formwork was chosen for the wall expansion for the Alcom system’s particular flexibility.
We have also been able to engineer and produce custom-made solutions that have resulted in the process being extremely efficient.
Thanks to our in-house engineering and production units, everything was achieved in a very short time and to the greatest levels of satisfaction.

At least the first half of the warehouse will be ready by the end of the first quarter of 2017. We wish EBS and its customers all the very best with their new warehouse.
